Build the world you want to see and tell it with Qoi, a system that lets your stories come to life
“To design and build an interactive object for children and their families.
Building challenges that spark collaborative interactions while leaving space for individual expression.”
meet Casey Kim!
Casey is our co-designer. Hence, meeting her was the most important and first step in our design process. We build a rapport with her and got to learn her interests and who she is as a person. We took this chance to familiarize ourselves with her behaviour, habits, and routine.
Problem Statement
Considering the age of the co-designer as well as the material in play, here are some challenges:
boost creativity/imagination
bring a balance between open-ended and intuitive
consider more than the user
regard the chance of alternative uses
develop good habits
repetitive elements
strengthen family bonds
Primary Research
This involves establishing a connection with the co-designer. Throughout this stage, we will be interacting with the family and building an understanding of our subject. The information collected will be beneficial in ideating our interactive object.
Secondary Research
Our secondary research will be conducted collectively to have a better understanding of the object and it will be explored through the following themes:
modularity
the importance of surface
colour psychology
scale
